Why Agencies and HR Teams Choose Bristol Stays
Why Choose a Local Independent Over a National Provider?

The serviced accommodation market in Bristol is dominated by national platforms and large operators. They offer scale, but scale comes with trade-offs – call centres instead of conversations, standardised properties instead of characterful homes, and money leaving Bristol rather than staying in it.
When you book with Bristol Stays, your spend stays local. We are a small, owner-managed operation. Our cleaner is a local Bristol family business. Our maintenance is handled by local tradespeople. The money circulates in Bristol rather than flowing to a head office elsewhere.
For organisations with ethical supply chain commitments – increasingly a board-level concern rather than a tick-box exercise – choosing verified local independents over anonymous national platforms is a straightforward, auditable decision. Bristol Stays is run by the founders of TISCreport – the world’s largest Transparency in Supply Chains register. We understand ethical supply chains better than most, and we can back it up.

Frequently Asked Questions from Agencies and HR Teams
Can you accommodate a team of new starters joining at the same time?
Yes. Our Brislington Townhouse sleeps up to 7 with individual beds, and our Old City Townhouse sleeps up to 12. Both are well suited to small onboarding cohorts or contractor teams working on a Bristol project.
Do new starters have to leave at weekends?
Most don’t need to stay at weekends – they’re typically still based elsewhere while they search for a permanent home in Bristol, so heading back on Fridays and returning Monday makes perfect sense. Our weekday pricing reflects that, so they’re not paying for nights they won’t use. If a weekend stay is occasionally needed, just ask when you enquire and we’ll check availability.
How long can a new starter stay while they flat-hunt in Bristol?
As long as they need, subject to availability. Most relocation stays run between two and eight weeks. We can extend week by week with no penalty, which takes the pressure off while your candidate searches for permanent accommodation in Bristol.
How does payment work?
We take full payment at the point of booking. For weekday stays – our standard offer – that means paying for the week’s nights upfront when you confirm. For longer relocation packages of a month or more, we can discuss staged weekly payments in advance. Either way it is clean and straightforward with no end-of-month billing cycles.
What is included in the weekly rate?
Everything. All bills, utilities, fast broadband, fully equipped kitchen, linen and towels, and a weekly clean. Your new hire moves in with a suitcase and nothing else. Standard fair use terms apply.
Are you on Airbnb or Booking.com?
Yes, and you can see reviews for all our properties on those and other platforms. But booking direct with us means no platform fees, better communication, and the flexibility to extend or adjust your stay without going through a third party. Call or email us directly for the best outcome.
Is there parking?
The Knowle Studio has parking for 2 cars and the Brislington Townhouse has 2 private off-street spaces. The Old City Townhouse has no on-site parking, but there are public car parks within a short walk. The Old City is also the most walkable location in the portfolio.
Can we be invoiced as a company?
Get in touch and we will talk through what works for both sides. We are a small independent operation and prefer to keep billing simple, but we are happy to discuss arrangements for agencies placing candidates regularly.
